Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced FortiGate Firewall Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in Fortinet security technologies and public cloud networking (Azure/AWS/OCI) . The candidate will be responsible for firewall management, network security, hybrid cloud connectivity, troubleshooting, and automation.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and configure FortiGate firewalls and FortiOS in enterprise environments.
Configure security policies, user authentication, SSL VPN and IPsec VPN .
Create and manage IPS rules, application control, and other Fortinet security features .
Manage FortiGate environments at scale using FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer .
Design, configure, and troubleshoot Fortinet SD-WAN .
Deploy and manage FortiGate-VM instances in public cloud environments.
Configure and troubleshoot BGP, OSPF, and static routing in hybrid cloud environments.
Design and manage Azure/AWS/OCI virtual networks, peering, and routing .
Work with Azure ExpressRoute, AWS Direct Connect, and OCI FastConnect .
Configure User-Defined Routes (UDRs) and route traffic through FortiGate NVA.
Work with Azure Load Balancer, Azure Route Server, DNS, route tables, HA and other advanced networking services .
Design and support VPN hub architectures, HA/DR, and hybrid cloud connectivity .
Collaborate with ISP backbone/network teams for connectivity and troubleshooting.
Troubleshoot complex network and security issues across the OSI stack .
Automate infrastructure and firewall configurations using Terraform, Microsoft Bicep, Python, and PowerShell .
Maintain technical documentation and follow security standards and best practices.
Required Skills:
6 8 years of overall network/security engineering experience.
Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience with FortiGate/FortiOS and current Fortinet technologies .
Strong expertise in FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, and Fortinet SD-WAN .
Strong knowledge of Azure, AWS, and/or OCI networking .
Hands-on experience with BGP, OSPF, static routing, VPN, HA/DR, and hybrid cloud networking .
Experience with FortiGate-VM/NVA deployments in public cloud .
Experience with Terraform, Bicep, Python, or PowerShell automation .
Strong understanding of network security concepts and NIST/CIS standards .
Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
